The whole Secondary Art School of Ladislav Bielik is revived by the project Erasmus +
After two years of project working of six schools from different countries within the project Erasmus + called Career in Art, the main project events moved to Slovakia on the ground of Secondary Art School of Ladislav Bielik in Levice. After specific preparation there finally arrived 23 host students and 11 teachers from five countries - Poland, Belgium, Slovenia, Romania and Turkey to Levice on Sunday, 10 April 2016. 11 students were accommodated in host families of our school and others were at dormitory of Business Academy in Levice.
The program was very rich. In the sense of the proverb First work before pleasure, students devoted the first two days to the preparations of workshops. The common denominator was the theme of the five workshops Alphabet of advertising. Their aim was to prepare students to present themselves, their future businesses of their country; the creation of giveaways innovative techniques. Every foreign student could pre-select two of five workshops offered that he or she passed for two days. There was a selection of these workshops: graphics - dry needle work; Textile art - art protis and dry and wet felting; Advertising Photography and creation of 3D logos from polystyrene. Heads of artistic workshops were artists, teachers of vocational subjects: Klára Šmídová, Jana Vafinová, Silvia Mráziková, Gabriel Kosmály, Ján Miškovič and Richard Aradský. Host Slovak students were accompanied by their guests on workshops and thus found themselves in the role of interpreters, as well as consultants. The atmosphere was perfect for them, creative, interesting and linguistically spread everywhere there was a rare sense of community and collegiality. Foreign students were very pleased that they could try out new artistic techniques and that they had succeeded in each workshop to create an integrated product, a small piece of art. To know better business conditions in the area of art in Slovakia students from abroad visited the studio of the academic painter Klára Šmídová who talked to them her experience on Business in the Arts and reveal them the secrets of her long artistic creation in the debate.
The project partners had the opportunity to learn the basic facts about the history and art of Slovakia and see the cultural and historical monuments by study visits to Tekov Museum in Levice, Museum in Saint Anton, Banská Štiavnica and Bratislava Castle. In Bratislava Castle, their were familiarized with the historical center of our capital city and they admired the modern art in an art gallery Danubiana. Professional instructor, who accompanied them each day, were knowledgeable experts: Jana Vafinová, Melinda Šteinerová and Pavol Šteiner. Although they had less free time due to extensive range of students one thing that is rarely found they got to know their host families and their host. They were hiking, did some sport activities, played bowling and games in college students and graduated with a teacher Jitka Pukšová, and there was evening with a cooking workshop of Slovak national dish which is called „bryndzové halušky“. All these joint activities have become the basis of language improvement in English, but especially the foundation of new friendships.
On Friday, 15 April 2016 were all gathered in the building of Secondary Art School of Ladislav Bielik in Levice Ku Bratke Street 9 to jointly evaluate the whole project week inaugurated an exhibition of works of art created by students in workshops. A charming exhibition was proudly opened by Slovak project coordinator Jitka Pukšová because works were actually very nice and artistically interesting. The exhibition has been advertising artistic photos, photos of foreign students in Tekov costume, gorgeous, detailed graphics, sophisticated and precise processed 3D logos, images created art technology art protis, felted bags and purses ...
And what our secondary school teachers from six countries even do not know was that they would see some tears. Heartfelt farewell tears and words of gratitude for a full program of arts and culture, for the hospitality and especially for newly formed friendships were expressed. Our hosts were also grateful for the perfect creative atmosphere, considering that our school alive with many national languages, but particularly by English.
