Students and their accompanying teachers were active five days. On the first day, they visited Women's Cave and the adjecent monastery Polovragi, where students learnt about the ancient sacred art. On their way they also stopped in the picturesque village of Horezu, where they admired crafstmen at work and were involved in making pottery on the traditional wheel, and have also decorated plates with traditional patterns. The objects were then left to dry and will be brought to students to their next exchange in Belgium.
On the second day, students gathered at the school to present their own schools and learn about the traditional Romanian blouse. The workshop was carried out by local teachers. Students first applied the patterns to a smaller piece of cloth, then started working on the blouse. The blouse could not be finished in one week, of course, but each country took it home with them so they will be able to work on it till finished. In the afternoon, students visited the town of Targu Jiu, focusing on works by famous sculptor Brancusi.
The third day was dedicated to outdoor activities, as well as working on the blouse. Students could mingle with the local people, learn basic Romanian words, explain where they were from and work together as one big team. The activity of the day way graffiti making in the local park.
The fourth day was dedicated to the blouse. On this day the Slovakian team also presented some patterns and textile techniques they were working on at home, which contributed to an exchange of ideas in the field of new techniques merging with the traditional ones, as well as helping students understand and appriciate the various approaches to fashionable creation. Finally, students went on a guided tour of the hosting school to see how their peers from Romania learn and create.
The last day was dedicated to visits to local galleries and museums, which helped students get an insight into the artistic creation of this part of Romania.
