The philosophical approach of our project consists out of a questionnaire. Before the meeting in Overpelt all participants reflect on the subject art, fill in the questionnaire and assemble their findings. During the meeting in Overpelt we organize a seminar where all these findings will be transformed in a mood board. Pictures from this seminar will be published on the website.

Art is GREAT! Why? What happens to you when you create a work of art? What do you see, what do you feel when you look at art?

To kick off the workshops, we start with some questions, a kind of ‘philosophical approach to art’.

Questionnaire:

o   What is art?

o   How would you define art?  What makes art ‘art’?

o   Can art influence your mood?

o   Can art be an inspiration?

·         Do colours have a symbolic meaning?

o   How would life be without colour?

o   What meaning do colours have?

o   What do colours mean to you?

·         “My little sister can make this!”, (what people sometimes say when they see modern art…)  Is this true?

o   Should an artist be partly a child to make great art?

o   Or… is every artist actually a child?

o   Are children artists?

·         What would the world be like without art?

o   Do we need art in our society/ must artists be subsidized?

o   Can art save the world? How?

o   Can art play a part in the communication between people from different cultures?
